John 3:1-6, 16-17
John 4:4-19, 28-30
Jesus confronts a “good man” and a “bad woman.” There were generally two kinds of
people who encountered Jesus: those who thought they were pretty good and those who knew they were pretty bad. He dealt with each differently. Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman at the well are at both ends of the spectrum. Today, as we encounter our world with the Gospel, nothing has changed. We still have to deal with the self-righteous and the guilty sinner.
