The Bible says that Jesus is the light of the world. In other words, God has revealed himself in the person and work of Jesus Christ. All things in life and creation find their meaning in Jesus – including you!
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” C.S. Lewis

A few facts about 1 John:
- It is a letter written by the disciple John – he was about 85 years old and the only
disciple of Jesus who had not been martyred for his faith.
- John also wrote the Gospel of John about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and the last book of the Bible, Revelation; a vision of Jesus in all his glory defeating the forces of evil in the end times.
- The main theme is to give you assurance that you are walking in the light and love of Jesus.
- Theme verse – 1 John 5:13 – I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
