New Testament Lesson: Ephesians 4:25-32 (Be kind and compassionate to one another)
Gospel Lesson: Matthew 5:38-48 (Love your enemies)
Kindness is an active expression of love, rooted in compassion and mercy. In the Old Testament the primary word for kindness is interchangeably translated as love or mercy. God’s kindness toward mankind is expressed most clearly through Jesus, who laid down His life to pay for our sins and make us right with God. This kindness of God in Jesus breaks down our barriers and draws us to make open and honest confession of our sins. May you be blessed by God’s kindness in Jesus.
