First Lesson: Titus 1:10-16
Gospel Lesson: Luke 9:10-17
Gluttony is perhaps the most difficult of the seven deadly sins to nail down. What’s the difference between a feast and gluttony? Is one a sin and the other not? The sin of gluttony is far more complex than just eating too much food. At the heart of this sin is a misplaced hunger – a hunger for the things of this world instead of for God. Misplaced hunger – no matter how much we feed it – will never satisfy us. Only feasting on the grace of God in Jesus will truly satisfy our heart’s desire.
