Old Testament Lesson: Micah 5:2-5a (A promised ruler from Bethlehem)
Gospel Lesson: Luke 1:39-45 (Mary visits Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist)
(Elizabeth said to Mary) “Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished.” At the heart of Christianity is trust in God’s Word and promises. In today’s culture, the authenticity and literal truth of the Bible is often called into question. For many people Christmas is a cultural celebration honoring good things like giving, fellowship, joy, and love. While those are good things, the heart of Christmas is still God’s promise to send a Savior for the world – His only Son Jesus.
