Thank you, Messiah, for really stepping up to the plate to volunteer for Night to Shine. Many of our teams are full or nearly full! We have a few specific gaps to fill. If you are interested in serving at this event, please consider volunteering in one of the following roles:
Bathroom Attendant: Bathroom attendants are needed to help guests find the restroom, and offer assistance in the restroom if needed. If a guest requires assistance with more than getting into or out of a stall or hand washing, it is appropriate to contact their parent or caregiver for assistance.
Shoe Shiner: We need a couple of volunteers willing to work in the Activities hallway to offer shoe shines to our male guests.
Set-up Team: If you’d like to help out but don’t have time in the evening to devote to Night to Shine, come join the Set-Up Team during the day on Friday (time TBD).
Buddies: This team will be the biggest of the night. Buddies will accompany and assist guests throughout the evening. They will sit with their guest during dinner and engage with them in conversation. A Buddy must be at least 15 years old.
Red Carpet Team: The Red Carpet team is there to cheer on our guests as they make their way down the Red Carpet. If you have about an hour to serve that evening, this is a great team for you! Middle school students with a parent present are welcome to serve on this team.
Runners: Do you have a car and are willing to just do whatever we need you to do? Then sign up to be a Runner! Runners will be leaving campus to grab pizza for our volunteers, pick up soda and drinks if we run out…just basically being a go-pher when we need you to be! Flexibility is a must in this role. You may be running a little or a lot.
Clean-Up/Tear Down Team: This team is responsible for keeping the areas clean throughout the night by taking trash out to the dumpsters as needed. At the end of the night, you will assist with taking down decorations and getting the sanctuary ready for services on Sunday.
