Care and Support present an ever-changing part of Messiahs ministry. Jesus reached out to individuals at crisis points in their lives as they faced illness, injury, and even death. As His people we continue to be His hands reaching out to care and support one another and our community. Throughout the month of July, we will highlight the various Care & Support Ministries at Messiah and provide information about how you can connect to these resources.
Care and Support at Messiah include:
Hospital ministry involves addressing the spiritual needs of those hospitalized through pastoral visits to members or others of our community. You can assist by notifying the church office if you or member of you family enter the hospital and want a pastoral visit.
Care Facility and home visits for those in need of long term rehab and therapy are a regular part of this ministry. Our area has a long list of care facilities regularly visited by our staff. Please let us know if you or a loved one desires a pastoral visit in these situations.
Stephen Ministers are members of Messiah trained to stand alongside of those in need of confidential, caring, supporting friendship in difficult times.
Cancer Companions are members of Messiah who are trained to support families confronting cancer. Often these are members who have “been there” themselves in dealing with cancer.
Benevolence Fund provides help for those who have an immediate need for a short term physical need of food or financial help. The Benevolence fund is supported by our Card Ministry and donations.
We also partner with St. Joachim and Ann to meet basic needs for food, clothing and other essentials.
Esther Project provides meals and fellowship following funeral services and memorials at Messiah.
Life is never without its stress and difficulties. Messiah has various arms willing to reach out to provide care and support in these times of need. Please contact our church office for information when these needs occur.
