The Epistle of Paul to the Christians at Philippi has been called “The Epistle of Joy.” In the midst of all situations and circumstances of life the Apostle urges these believers to rejoice. The key verse is Philippians 4:4: “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!” It is easy to have joy when the situation warrants it – when everything is “coming up roses.” But for the Christian, joy is constant, not because of circumstances, but because of our relationship with Jesus.
