New Testament Lesson: Acts 9:1-22 (Saul is confronted and called by Jesus)
Gospel Lesson: John 21:1-19 (Jesus reinstates Peter)
After Jesus rose from the dead He appeared to His disciples several times – including to Peter and Paul, the two great apostles of the New Testament. The word “appeared” is literally the word “manifested” which means “clearly apparent to the sight or understanding.” Peter and Paul not only saw Jesus with their eyes, they realized in their hearts the implications of Jesus’ resurrection; that Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, the Lord of all creation. God’s great desire is that Jesus would be made known to all people – as the perfect Son of God, risen from the dead, and Lord of all creation.
