New Testament Lesson: 1 Corinthians 1:26-2:5 (Christ, the wisdom and power of God)
Gospel Lesson: Luke 12:4-9 (Warnings and encouragements)
Have you ever asked yourself or God, “Are there any plans for me, little old (or young) me?” We may wonder, “Can God use me, little known, virtually powerless me for anything?” Today we take a look at Shamgar, just such a “nobody” chosen for a specific task at a particular time by God to save His people. God often uses the insignificant, the unimportant, the powerless to accomplish His will. Don’t overlook yourself or think God has no purpose for you. God never does! Since He numbers the hairs of your head, since He sent Jesus for you, be certain He can and will equip you and use you in His world.
